An advocate for and architect of sustainable finance, Lauren has a global track record comprising more than 25 years of experience in launching, advising on and managing emerging markets impact investment funds and sustainable development finance transactions, with emphasis on appropriate financing for inclusive growth and resiliency. Active in gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) as well as global climate adaptation and resilience investment, Lauren’s work spans the design and successful implementation of clear strategies, policies, products and metrics for achieving simultaneous financial, social and environmental goals, including transformative approaches to good governance. Her experience spans multiple taxonomies, standards, asset classes, sectors and geographies, with emphasis on inclusive micro, small and medium-enterprise (MSME) finance and a governance practice related to climate, environment and social inclusion. Lauren currently serves on the Boards of Just Share South Africa and Shared Assets UK, and is an independent Investment Committee member of the Helenos Fund, an impact private equity fund that invests in financial institutions serving micro and small businesses in Europe and the Balkans and of Nyala Venture, which invests in local capital providers serving SMEs in Sub-Saharan Africa.
