Summary

As the Global Safety and Security Director at EDC, I provide expert guidance on safety, security, and safeguarding risks, ensuring effective mitigation strategies for our diverse projects in education, health, and economic development. With over 10 years of experience in the NGO sector, I’ve developed and implemented strategies to protect EDC staff, volunteers, and partners in complex and high-risk environments. My background in humanitarian field operations, interagency coordination, and policy analysis is complemented by a master’s degree in peace operations from George Mason University. I’ve led the creation of EDC’s Safeguarding Policy and supported the development of security risk assessments and budgets for business development. Previously, I was the COVID-19 Task Force lead and internal project manager for Habitat for Humanity International’s business continuity plan. I’m passionate about building a culture of safety and safeguarding across the sector.
