I have currently obtained my LLM in Public International Law at Koç University in Istanbul and in search of employment or fellowship/internship opportunities. I have an extensive background in international politics and law, both domestic and international, and would like to continue to hone in these thematic skills as well as get the chance to develop other professional skills. I am confident that I would be an exceptionally dedicated and resourceful contribution to your organization, in view of my research and writing experience.
My most recent occupation was working at Akol Ozok Namli (Akol), a high-end Turkish corporate law firm, as a legal proofreader as well as assisting in human resources management. I was in charge of reviewing virtually all client communications sent from the office, including legal memos and due diligence reports. I was also involved in high-level meetings on human resources matters. My prior position before that was at a real estate law firm where I handled many obligations as a paralegal and law clerk for the past 6 years. I assisted multiple lawyers with filings, drafting motions, and researching cases.
I continue to hold the position of a reporter for Koç University’s Center for Global Public Law human rights reports project for Oxford University Press’ Oxford Public International Law database. I report on the communications of human rights treaty bodies such as CERD, CAT, CEDAW, and the HRC. I am not only a native speaker of English, but have near-native proficiency in Turkish with an intermediate level in Spanish. Although my LLM thesis focused specifically on international human rights law protections of minority rights, I am committed to a broader scope of issues and would be interested in contributing to your research/work on these and other issue areas.
