Lucia Luzi, Ph.D., is an Economist currently working at the World Bank in Washington DC. Previously, she was Visiting Professor and Adjunct Lecturer in Economics at Boston University. She has also worked with international organizations, such as UNICEF, UNEP, and the European Commission. Lucia graduated in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan, before earning her international Ph.D. from the School for Advanced Studies at Ca’Foscari University in Venice. During her Ph.D. studies, she spent a year as a Visiting Scholar at the Free University of Amsterdam. Lucia has over ten years’ experience working in International Development and supporting capacity building programs for both governments and statistical agencies. She also has experience managing large-scale and complex projects and supervising other team members. Her areas of expertise include Development Economics, Human Capital, Climate Change, and Survey Methodology. She has lived and worked extensively throughout Africa and Latin America, studying, and addressing core issues of poverty and inequality among the most vulnerable, particularly children. Countries of field work experience: Brazil, Colombia, Cyprus, Egypt, Ethiopia, Honduras, Kenya, Nigeria, Peru, Tanzania, Yemen, and Zambia.
