Summary

I currently seek a role in the humanitarian sector that ties my clinical and research backgrounds as well as my career and personal interests, particularly regarding context-specific clinical delivery and applications in fragile settings. After working at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital with the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change for two years, I undertook an MSc in Nutrition for Global Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, which included fieldwork in rural Gambia. In parallel, I worked as a visiting research fellow with the Institute of Cancer Policy in London on global cancer economics programs. Prior to returning to the US in 2017, I spent six weeks as a medical volunteer at Chitwan Medical College Teaching Hospital in Nepal. Upon return to the US, I held administrative roles at Tufts Medical Centre and Tufts University School of Medicine, Department of Global Health. Desiring a clinical background, I pursued my Masters in Nursing at Columbia University and post-licensure, have been working as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse in Greenville, South Carolina. Since 2018, I have served as COO for The 1789 Fund, an NGO that focuses on improving the health and safety of mothers and newborns in rural Nepal. We plan to make our second midwifery training visit over in February 2023, with a focus on birthing complications in rural settings.
