Mark Akanko Achaw is currently a Senior Health Finance Advisor on the USAID Funded PROPEL Health Project, providing technical support to various countries including Malawi, Ghana, Botswana, and Kenya. He recently led the health financing component of the USAID Rwanda Integrated Health Systems Activity (RIHSA) as the Health Financing Director. Mark has over 17 years of experience in health financing, health systems strengthening, health Insurance, and project management. He holds an MBA in Finance and an MPhil in Sustainability Studies from the University of Oslo. He has extensive international working experience through engagements in projects across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia including Ghana, Tanzania, the Philippines, Nigeria, Norway, Kenya, Ethiopia, Germany, Zambia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Nepal, Indonesia, Thailand, Rwanda, India, Afghanistan and Mongolia. His most recent employers include the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Options Consultancy Services Ltd, Palladium Group, the Centre International de Développement et de Recherche (CIDR), the Microinsurance Network (MIN), the Frankfurt School of Finance, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, DDFinance As and AFC Consultants International GmbH.
