Presently I work at Health Union, a mission-driven company that creates online health communities for people living with or chronic conditions to come together. I am passionate about programs and policies that build capacity and expand opportunity in under-resourced communities. The roles in which I have had an impact have varied tremendously: from teaching across the United States and in Jordan; to co-developing a multi-year strategic plan for an immigration and resettlement agency in Philadelphia; to remodeling an accelerated learning program to meet the needs of street children in Ethiopia. I am an adaptive and agile thinker motivated by solving difficult problems and working towards equity. I am finishing an M.S.Ed. in International Educational Development at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. I graduated from Dickinson College with a B.A. in History. Following Dickinson, I taught English in Jordan as a Fulbright Fellow. In my spare time, I train for road races with the Philadelphia Runner Track Club. I am always interested in discussing opportunities via Linkedin or email at matthewianferry [at] gmail.com.
