• I am a positive, pragmatic, hard-working, and results-oriented public health and nutrition practitioner aiming to achieve the best results for children and women in humanitarian and development contexts. • Over 15 years of experience in public health and nutrition programming in Ethiopia: designing, implementing, and evaluation of maternal, newborn, and child survival programs in both public health emergency and development settings. • Served as Head/Director of Health and Nutrition (H&N) for Save the Children (SC) – with an overall leadership role for SC’s H&N portfolio. • Developed a comprehensive multi-sectoral strategic plan for nutrition, setting the strategic direction of Save the Children with a focus on stunting reduction. • Key role in the development of several national-level nutrition documents including the National Nutrition Program (NNP), national nutrition guidelines and training manuals – ensuring SC remained a top player in nutrition in the country • Pioneered the establishment of the Ethiopian Civil Society Coalition for Scaling up Nutrition (ECSC-SUN) that, with over 50 local and international NGOs as its constituencies, served as a CSO voice at the national nutrition governance structure of Ethiopia. • I have a special interest in designing, developing, and promoting low cost and high impact interventions, systems strengthening, capacity building of community and facility providers on MNCAHN, which would significantly contribute to positive and sustained progress towards ending preventable maternal, newborn, and child deaths. • I used to have a lead role in the development of health and nutrition proposals with an overall success rate of over 80 percent. • Led a team of highly competent health and nutrition core team of about 25 experts based in Addis
