Miranda Pendo

Miranda is a passionate social entrepreneur with a wealth of experience in enterprise development, sustainable program design and management in the following fields: sexual reproductive health, business development and entrepreneurship, skills transfer, marketing & communications and resource mobilization. I believe in enhancing human capital through capacity building at individual level through training and coaching, organizational / corporate level through skills building and mentoring and at community level through development and capacity building programs. I work closely with TVET institutions, embedded in the Ministry of Educaiton in Kenya, I advise on institutionalisation fo dual TVET training in the country. I have worked with a number of non-governmental (non-profit) organizations in different capacities including management of different grants, multi-country program design and delivery with a focus on health and enterprise development. I also have a niche in organizing and managing corporate fundraising conferences and events. I am able to design development projects, develop communication strategies; support monitoring and evaluation including development of monitoring tools and field research; initiate and develop sustainable partnerships and mobilize resources from various development partners. I am a leader and develop strong teams, working together to provide team owned solutions. My key strengths are program design, strategic communication, sales and marketing, leadership and capacity building. I derive satisfaction working with marginalized communities to deliver sustainable development solutions in health and economic empowerment, whether it is sex workers or sexual minorities in urban areas, long distance truck drivers on transport corridors, displaced people in protection camps or rural women and youth in micro-enterprise and agribusiness.
