Summary

My academic qualifications: I accomplished my Diploma in General Forestry, B.Sc. in Natural Resource Economics and Management and M.S. in Climate Change and Development from University of Hawassa (WGCFNR) and Mekelle University, College of Dry land Agriculture and Natural Resource Management. My most obvious advantage in research is the opportunity to submit a thesis in the final semester of my postgraduate study. It was on "Assessing the impacts of exclosure on carbon stock and woody species diversity in lowland Northern, Ethiopia: Implication for climate change mitigation. " which later published in a peer reviewed scientific journal (Journal of Agriculture and Ecology Research International and Elsevier-Science of the Total Environment). Work Experiences: • I have 13 years experienced at different organization at different level of position (as Forest Conservation Expert, Early Warning Training Officer, Technical Assistance Officer, Assistant Researcher, Center Director, Natural Resources Management Specialist, Case Team Leader- Associate Researcher). Jobs responsibilities • Lead, propose, designed and executed natural resources management, standard rangeland and dryland forest rehabilitation, introduced climate adaptation and agroforestry research activities. • Developed, propose, and implementing of research project on (soil water conservation, watershed management, collection and conservation of indigenous trees species, soil fertility improvement and climate adaptation research) • Established and technical support on Farmer Research Group (FRG) in income generation projects that combines both field and management in different projects in the region and different organizations. • Provide technical advice and support to initiatives designed to consolidate and scale up sustainable natural resources management linked to innovative market and finance solutions (including early warning systems, climate information systems, ‘greening towns and cities’, participatory rangeland management and participatory NRM approaches). • Contribute towards the development of a GIZ-SDR, GITEC projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with regional programme policies and guidance • Represent the APARI network at agricultural research related meetings, research review with Federal MEFCC institute conferences and workshops particularly on forestry research and development issues. • Coordinated, facilitated and organized regional Technology Need Assessment (TNAs) for climate change adaptation and mitigation collaboration with Ministry of Environment and Forest as team leader in the region • Work closely with Semera university in annual research review as external evaluator related with forest, rangeland and climate change proposals and researches • Ensure in time reporting of the process/department/ after any field work, monthly, quarterly and annual to my line director of directorate of natural resources. • Collaborated and work closely with stakeholders and partners
