I currently advise the CEO of the International Finance Corporation - the private sector arm of the World Bank Group - on private sector development in emerging markets and developing economies. Prior to this, I worked at the World Bank in its research department, where I managed flagship reports on global development, as well as earlier in operational departments as senior country economist for Brazil, China and Malaysia. Before that, I worked for the IMF on a range of emerging markets mainly in Asia. I received my education at the Economics Departments of MIT, Harvard and LSE, where I obtained a Ph.D. in Economics.
