Summary

Dr. Regis Cabral is a technology transfer specialist. He is a hydrogen physicist and a historian of science and technology, having written a PhD dissertation on the interactions of science and diplomacy (University of Chicago, 1986). He has published more than 300 books, articles and reports, many of them on the relations between universities and the productive sector. He is known internationally for the Cabral Dahab Science Park Management Paradigm, which has been used to plan, establish, study and evaluate science parks, business incubators and similar organisations. Dr. Cabral has long engagement with European projects. This includes, previously, a seat in the board of directors of the European University of Environment, the Innovation Relay Center which was the European Commission network dedicated to technology transfer and the management of ICP LEAP which was a distance education project for the Middle East. His evaluation experience includes the ICT Stockholm Challenge Award, international aid programs and the European Commission, as well as the Washington Mandela Fellowship for Young African Leaders. He has evaluated entire organisations such as UNESCO and UNCTAD, and innitiatives such as the US Department of State Global Innovation Through Science and Technology. Dr. Cabral is referee and reviewer for several journals and conferences. He has received awards from AOM, Academy of Management, USA, in the Organisation Management and Theory Division and Entrepreneurship Division. He is an experienced speaker, with previous professor (UFSC, Brazil), lecturer (University of Lund, Sweden) and key note (I3E) positions. He holds several elected / trust postions, including as member of the Committee for Employment and Adult Education, Pitea, Sweden, and as a Lay Judge in the Swedish Courts.. Dr. Cabral is currently Director of FEPRO - Funding for European Agencies.
