Rémy Kormos is a leading expert on policy, legal and regulatory reform in low- and middle-income countries and a senior international business lawyer. He has over 30 years of experience, including 18+ years working on donor-funded economic growth and governance assistance programs, and has worked in 22 countries in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East / North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America / Caribbean. His areas of technical expertise include business enabling environment reform, commercial law reform, inclusive growth, access to finance, investment policy, judicial reform and alternative dispute resolution. He has extensive experience providing technical assistance and capacity building on donor funded programs, researching and writing proposals and providing administrative support to programs. He has authored journal articles, practice guides, diagnostic studies and reviews of draft legislation for the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Commission’s Directorate General for International Cooperation (EU Aid) and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Mr. Kormos’ international development work is informed by his 12+ years of private sector legal practice experience, working on international business transactions and general corporate matters, both at the beginning of his career with top corporate law firms and more recently as in-house counsel with USAID contractors DAI Global and DPK Consulting.
