Rodd Myers

I am an environmental social scientist focussing on forests, political ecology, environmental justice, policy analysis, and global production networks / value chains of natural resource products. As practitioner, I also have extensive experience in rural development, sustainable agriculture and livelihoods as well as gender equality and results-based management. I am driven by issues of social justice, especially pertaining to natural resources. ________________________________ RESEARCH Current research interests are in supranational governance arrangements and forest resources, access and exclusion within global production networks / value chains, relationships between forests and communities, customary land claims, and governance issues related to land use within the context of supranational governance arrangements. ________________________________ MONITORING, EVALUATION AND LEARNING I have co-ordinated and conducted evaluations for 17 years, including developing MEL systems for complex global projects, monitoring, and conduting evlauations as an independent evlauator using OECD DAC criteria. ________________________________ TECHNICAL CONSULTING, PROJECT MANAGEMENT, TEACHING AND TRAINING I have been a lead author on 31 successful project proposals and provided technical assistance for project design, monitoring and evaluation for sustainable agriculture and rural development projects in developing and developed countries. I have a wide range of facilitation and training experience with university students, professionals, and farmers. I have been responsible for up to 65 consecutive staff and $26 million of contracts at any one time with NGOs and private sector. I am skilled in workflow, personnel, budget, results, and risk management and have worked with a wide range of governments as well as private, bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors. ____________________________________ FOLLOW UP I am always interested in discussing collaborations.
