Ronald Busiinge is a holder of a Master of Education of Makerere University and holds a Bachelor of Education degree of Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation of Kyambogo University. Besides being a professional educationist and having dedicated relentless effort in the said field, he has over eight years experience in conducting trainings and development work. He has worked closely with various sectors including NGOs, Government and the Private sector. This experience has enabled him to develop his career in development work, most especially in the areas of organizational development, poverty eradication, gender mainstreaming and understanding the NGO landscape. He has been an Ogranisational Development Consultant for many organizations including Uganda Business Coalition of HIV/AIDS (UBC-HIV/AIDS), Development and Environment Management Initiatives (DEMI), Young Men Christians Association (YMCA), AHF and Kendere Trust Uganda. For most of these organizations, he has helped them in registration, establishing institutional structures, making strategic plans, writing project proposals, conducting evaluations, fundraising and conducting training programmes among other things. His postgraduate training in Community Based Rehabilitation has accessed him with the skills in participatory methodologies in planning and service delivery as well as enhanced my understanding of disability related issues. He is knowledgeable in peace and conflict related issues as well as humanitarian assistance and relief, having conducted several trainings in the said fields. He was a Consultant for undertaking a Mid Term Review of IGAD Capacity Building Programme Against Terrorism (ICPAT) between April and May 2008. He was heading Monitoring and Evaluation as well as Organisation Developments components. ICPAT sought applications from Individuals or firms to carry out a Mid Term Review of the Program, whose Program life is from 2006 to 2010. The exercise covered activities under the ICPAT programme and covered some IGAD countries (Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Sudan) where ICPAT programme is operational. The consultants had to work hand in hand with ICPAT partners, staff and associates in order to compile this report. The Review was comprehensive, covering both the thematic activities of the Program, administrative and financial matters. The Review utilized various sources of information - including plans and reports of the Program Office, interviews with the Program Staff, and discussions with relevant officers of IGAD, ISS, IGAD member states as well as partner Countries and institutions. The Review Team came up with a series of questions or points that needed to be addressed prior to setting out to seek the views of respondents. The purpose of the Review was to comprehensively assess the progress of the Program and recommend adjustments to its design. The aim was to examine both the achievements and shortcomings, and propose with what structure and in which direction the Program should move forward to realize its objectives. He has attended many conferences on peace and security as well as undertaken many assignments in post war recovery programmes. At a personal level, he is serious with pursuing an aggressive career in teaching/training, research and community development work. As the Executive Director of Earthsavers Movement Uganda Chapter he has been at the helm of implementing most of the organizations projects, further compounding his competences in project management. He has helped many institutions with social sector and business consultancy, project proposals, training of trainers, feasibility studies, business plans, research and organisational development assistance.
