Summary

Serena is a senior leader with more than 26 years of experience in highly competitive, international development organizations. She has provided overall strategic leadership for World Vision's food security and livelihoods sector since 2018. Serena has had the privilege of delivering both long- and short-term technical/leadership support across nearly 20 countries in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Her primary expertise is in global strategy development and execution. Her technical background includes agriculture-nutrition linkages and behavior change, food security, resilience, and sustainable livelihoods, with a special emphasis on supporting rural, small holder farming communities. She has co-authored numerous articles on resilience, climate and agrifood systems. She was a contributor to FAO’s 2023 report on the Status of Women in Agrifood Systems and serves as lead author for a forthcoming World Bank publication focusing on fostering resilience through financial inclusion.
