Shehla Rizwan

Shehla Rizwan is a communication and development professional with over twenty-seven years of work experience providing strategic marketing and communications services to development sector organizations/ donor agencies, including USAID, World Bank, JICA, INGO, CARE International, and MEDA. Her strong attributes are notable strategic vision, creativity, and ability to mix traditional communication and digital media. Her other strengths include solid knowledge of communications, marketing and promotional tools, project management, budgeting skills, team leadership, and teaching and training. Shehla is skilled in designing and implementing communications strategies, creating marketing and branding campaigns, cultivating media networks and outreach platforms to increase awareness, and coordinating with multiple government and private sector partners. She has experience facilitating high-profile event management teams and leveraging a wide range of media—including print, radio, television, and online—to enable organizations to broaden their constituencies and accomplish their strategic goals. Currently, she is working as the head of the Development Outreach & Communications Unit at USAID Pakistan and investing her designing, writing, speaking, communications, organizational development, and training skills as a creative tool for public education and positive change. Shehla was awarded USAID’s most prestigious award for her outstanding achievements, the ‘Professional Foreign Service National of the Year’ Award.
