Simona Habič

Mag. Simona Habič manages corporate compliance and business integrity system at Public Service Broadcasting RTV Slovenia since 2017. She is an independent certified DPO- Data Protection Officer. She is an anticorruption and good governance consultant for the Council of Europe (pool of experts). Between 2012 and 2018 she was a correspondent and member of the LRCC-TAS Network for the European Commission (DG Home Affairs/PWC) delivering regular extensive research analytical reports for the EU corruption report and for the European Semester since 2017. As the President (MD) and founder of Transparency International Slovenia, Ms Habič led a multidisciplinary effort to strengthen the anti-corruption culture and implementation of transparency mechanisms and tools in Slovenia and abroad for 10 years. She developed key TI Slovenia's programmes and was responsible for promoting pro-active legal print and transparent public procurement, more effective enforcement of laws for curbing corruption, avoiding misuse of power and conflict of interest. Ms Habič has more than 21 years of professional public, private and not-for-profit experience in media and anti-corruption. She is experienced in working in international contexts. She has 10 years of experience in research and analyses in the field. She was the leader of the project and research team for the National Integrity System Analysis on Slovenia, senior editor and author of numerous publications and conducted two in-depth research on Corruption among journalists in Slovenia and on Organisational integrity in private corporations. Ms Habič is an expert in organizational and corporate integrity (development and implementation of integrity system for private and public entities), anti-corruption strategies in private and public sector and a researcher (corruption country reports, the expenditure of public funds, risk assessments etc). She is an experienced anti-corruption trainer and has developed extensive anti-corruption training methodology and train of the trainer handbook for the prison environment for CoE and Bulgarian Ministry of justice and implemented it in practice. She developed an extensive handbook for the implementation of anti-corruption mechanisms in a public sector, especially for public officials for Slovenian Academy for public administration and delivered training. She delivered training for judges, prosecutors, public officials and NGO's in SEE region on conflict of interest, integrity, public procurement transparency and other topics. Ms Habič holds a University Master of science (EQF 8) in political sciences, and she received her academic degree from social sciences (EQF7) at Faculty of social sciences at the University of Ljubljana. She holds an international Advanced certificate in business compliance (with distinction) issued by ICA.
