Primary expertise in education sector (sector wide reforms, sector governance and financing, technical aspects including incentives for girls education, public-private partnerships, teacher professional development and teacher reforms, examination reforms and assessment systems). Educated as policy economist, keen interest in political economy of human development, including employment/labor market outcomes. Familiar with government policy making at senior levels, and hands on education and social sector reform experience. Extensive experience in Asia, with exposure to other development contexts, and prior work experience in alternative energy sector in western United States (California and Arizona). On a personal note - married to a development economist; love food, travel, fashion, and talking to my children and their friends; extremely politically aware and addicted to news and policy analysis; thrive on keeping up with the beat through social media and hearing what the youth have to say.
