Summary

Somer Hamrick, founder and CEO of Channel Clinical, has spent the majority of her 20-year career specializing in leading growth strategies ($275m+), with the last decade focused on clinical research and drug development from a service perspective. She co-led the spin out of a private contract research organization from a 5000+ person global non-governmental organization. She has served in both public and private sectors across therapeutic areas with a global health focus on infectious disease, neglected tropical disease and women’s health. Her work has led her to cross the US, Africa, and Asia in support of some of the world’s most challenging epidemics and US Medical Countermeasures. Clients include top Fortune 100 pharmaceutical companies, small and mid-size biotechnology companies, the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, academic institutions, and the US government. Throughout her career, Somer established industry partnerships to meet client needs from rapid start-ups to resource-constrained environments including projects supported by USAID, the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Service and Defense. Notable projects include the first clinical trial to be conducted in the country of Sierra Leon on the Ebola virus disease and co-developing and instituting training for global clinical sites for the USAID-funded Site Identification and Development Initiative
