Tim Muzira has years of experience in agricultural development project management
including finance and value chains with a specialization in agribusiness development through
managing donor-funded projects and various technical consulting assignments in Rwanda,
Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mr. Muzira was instrumental designing a
very competitive proposal for CNFA - a US non-profit organization that eventually won the
USAID/Rwanda Feed The Future Hinga Weze Activity - a $32.6M program aimed at
improving livelihoods and nutrition status of households in Rwanda by expanding availability
of and use of nutritious foods and increasing the resilience of the agriculture and food
systems to the changing climate. Previously, he served as the Deputy Chief of Party of
another Feed The Future USAID's $24.8M Private Sector Driven Agricultural Growth
project (PSDAG), with the objectives of strengthening Rwanda's capacity to attract
agricultural investments and stimulate private sector growth. Prior to this position, he served
as the Value Chains Manager for East Africa Exchange, a regional commodity exchange and
was the Technical and Operations Director of another USAID's Post-Harvest Handling and
Storage Project (PHHS). He has also held a Country Director position for a private US-based
foundation Kids Across Africa Camps in Rwanda. Most notably, for 10 years, Mr. Muzira
worked as an agribusiness specialist for the Economic Growth Team of USAID/Rwanda,
exposing him to many aspects of agribusiness, including access to finance, social inclusion,
post-harvest handling, and input supply development. Mr. Muzira is a native speaker of
Kinyarwanda, fluent in English, French, Lingala, and Swahili; and advanced in Luganda.
