Todd Thompson has almost thirty years of combined experience in project management, private sector development, agribusiness and cooperative development, climate-smart agriculture, proposal development, trade facilitation and trade policy, market systems, access to finance, agriculture, WASH, nutrition, and Care Groups. He is an innovative manager with over 20 years of direct experience as Chief of Party for multiple projects, Regional Director for Southern and Eastern Africa, and USAID Agriculture Development Officer in Mozambique. Todd is strong in the areas of budgeting and financial management, operations, human resources, organizational representation, sub-grantee/contract management, and business development. His private sector and cooperative development experience prior to becoming involved in international development gives him a unique blend of skills and perspective in development and the private sector. Todd is a leader in the technical areas of market systems development, trade facilitation and policy, agribusiness, and cooperative development along with food security and climate-smart agriculture. Using CLA, Todd always looks for impactful delivery of projects he manages and when not occurring, makes changes in field activities to maximize results. He is an excellent networker and a strong collaborator with all involved from beneficiaries, through partners and government entities, and up to the donor. His management style emphasizes a coaching/mentoring role.
