Senior-level international development professional, with over two decades of experience leading complex programs across Asia and the Pacific. Effective leadership, and successful fundraising for both large and small offices while managing projects and staff in difficult, politically challenging environments. Diversity of experience from managing a small NGO, coordinating a five United Nations Agency area-based program, consulting with development contractors, and working across multiple levels in The Asia Foundation from the home office to implementation as a Chief of Party through to country leadership. I have created and managed impactful programs and teams across all The Asia Foundation’s thematic areas. These programs span a wide variety of donors from various US Government agencies, Australia, New Zealand, the European Union, Norway, the United Kingdom, and Holland. This experience includes an in-depth understanding of programing in parliamentary support, rule of law, community-based mediation, land management, municipal development planning, urban service delivery, climate change and adaptation, renewable energy transition, economic governance as well as peace and security. Led and developed multiple strategic planning processes, program designs, and monitoring, evaluation and learning plans. These have led to the growth of every program and office I have led over my career. In the past five years I successfully fundraised over USD $25 million in direct awards from multiple governments, foundations, and the private sector. This resulted in the in the growth of the Laos office from a small office of ten staff implementing $1 million in funds to over forty staff with a budget of $6 million plus annually. This growth was fostered through staff development, systems change internally, and a focus on programmatic excellence.
