Summary

Tristan Salmon is an economic development, labour market, and monitoring and evaluation specialist with experience of working in fragile and conflict-affected environments. He has worked on projects in South Sudan, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Brunei and the Philippines. He currently works with Integrity Research and Adam Smith International as M&E Lead for a UK Government project providing essential services and governance support to local structures in opposition held areas in Syria. In a separate role he works as an Associate in the Economic Development Team with Happold Consulting. From 2008-2011 Tristan was in Syria providing technical assistance to facilitate investment projects for a range of local and regional businesses. He was Director of Projects for the Syrian Consulting Bureau between 2008-10 before founding a local consultancy, Istishari, with Syrian colleagues between 2010-11. Following the uprising he joined Integrity Research where he researched the emerging civil administration structures in Syria. He also conducted field research on the impact of conflict drivers on economic development in South Sudan, focusing on border and security issues. He has strong skills in programme design, project management and monitoring and evaluation. He has led large-scale evaluations on economic reform and governance programmes.
