VAG-LAN BORGES, 56 years old, Brazilian, over the last 30 years has been a regular consultant of UNDP/GEF and the Brazilian government for issues concerned with organizational and institutional strengthening, South-south, triangular, and multilateral international cooperation, ecosystem services, payments for environmental services (PES), REDD+, industrial ecology (zero-emission methodology and circular economy of natural resources and landbased industry carbon management), sustainable development and multilevel governance, and rural-urban and regional planning and development. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in “Political Science” from the University of Brasilia, a master’s in “Economic Development” from the International University of Andalusia, Spain, and a Territorial Planning and Development certificate. He has experience managing riverine, estuarine, and marine protected areas and fragile lands, ecological corridors, and rural-urban spaces/places.
