Yaw Osei-Tutu

My name is Yaw Brako Osei-Tutu. I am a Chartered Management Accountant and certified Project Management Professional with over 4 years working experience in financial and project management at the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI). WACCI is an international donor-funded project of the University of Ghana with over US$22 million in grant commitments working to build capacity towards greater food security in West Africa.

As Finance Officer of WACCI, I headed the finance department and was responsible for day-to-day financial management in a multi-donor environment. This not only involved financial planning, accounting, analysis and reporting but also budget administration, procurement, risk management and compliance as well as systems development.

Working on a variety of programmes sponsored by donors such as the World Bank, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) has enabled me to build a portfolio of critical project management skills; particularly in the areas of proposal development, grant and contract management, project reporting, monitoring and evaluation and donor relations. My background and interest in the design and financing of development interventions motivated me to pursue an MSc. programme in Development Finance which I completed in June 2014.

Integrity, humility, a strong sense of responsibility, a passion for life-long learning and innovation and team spirit are values I cherish, and continuously strive to uphold in all my professional and personal dealings. My ultimate career aspiration is to make a significant contribution to finance transformation and development finance in Africa.
