I am a Senior Programme Manager and have consulted for African Union on effective participation in regional and international forums covering 31 countries in Central, West and North Africa. I have developed the Africa Strategy for the CSIR in South Africa, including the business development opportunities for the institution in health, nutrition, agriculture, chemicals etc. Before that, I managed the BioFISA II Programme - a Finnish –Southern Africa Programme to support NEPAD SANBio. SANBio is a regional network for collaborative research in health and nutrition operating using a hub and spokes model. I supported SANBio stakeholders in 13 SADC Member States to commercialise research outputs, build capacity and further gender equity to address SDG 2, 3, 4, 9 and 17 while contributing towards Africa’s Agenda 2063. Part of this support has led to the commercialisation of 7 products and the establishment of 5 spin-off companies covering products in human and animal health and nutrition.
