The Inter-American Development Bank will free USD64.7 million to help improve the efficiency of electricity transmission in Ecuador.

The funding will enable the country to build and expand electrical substations and transmission lines, as well as procure transformers and related equipment.

The project will address a quarter of  Ecuador’s estimated transmission needs in the next four years. It is also expected to enhance the management of transmission services.
