Hillary Clinton, Anthony Lake, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus are among confirmed speakers attending a high-level conference that will attempt to identify ways to end preventable child deaths.
Up to 700 public and private sector leaders are expected to join the U.S secretary of state, UNICEF head and ministers of health from India and Ethiopia at the “Child Survival: Call to Action” event June 14-15 in Washington, D.C., USA. Delegates are expected to launch a long-term, business-inspired initiative to help children around the world reach their fifth birthday.
This conference is in line with the “Every Child Deserves a Fifth Birthday” awareness campaign led by the U.S. Agency for International Development and other development partners. Images and messages gathered on the campaign’s website are expected to be displayed at the conference.
