International Medical Corps, a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs, seeks candidates for the position of Medical Doctor – Orthopedic Surgeon for our program in Akobo, South Sudan.
JOB SUMMARY
International Medical Corps has been working in Akobo Hospital since 2007, providing primary and secondary care, as well as emergency and elective surgical services. Akobo Hospital is the main referral facility for all of Akobo County in Jonglei State. Since the crisis in December 2013, this program has expanded rapidly to include nutrition programs, community health outreach, and reproductive health care. Now, further expansion of surgical capacity is necessary to meet a growing caseload.
The primary responsibility of the Medical Doctor – Orthopedic Surgeon is to implement surgical services in Akobo Hospital (including, but not limited to emergency orthopedic care).
