Sr. Architect
Tetra Tech requests expression of interest from highly qualified Ethiopian Sr. Architect candidates for our Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Office.
Tetra Tech has implemented the Ethiopia Health Infrastructure Project (EHIP) under contract with the USAID/Ethiopia Mission. This multi year project focuses on the evaluation, design and construction of existing and proposed Health Centers in Ethiopian urban and rural areas.
Responsibilities
The Senior Architect will provide technical assistance in the areas of planning, designing, and construction of Health Centers and supporting sustainable infrastructure facilities of the project, under the direction and mentoring of the EHIP Expat Chief of Party. At a detailed technical level, the role will also include management/coordination with EHIP architecture and engineering sub consultant team members and review of architecture/engineering reports and plans. The candidate must be able to:
- Develop, operate & optimize effective policies, processes and procedures to accomplish the work with the program objectives in mind;
- Integrate architecture and engineering elements into Health Center design ;
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and direct activities of subconsultant team members engaged in evaluating and preparing drawings and specification documents;
- Coordinate with EHIP team members on work order priorities and project designs;
- Solve Project Technical Problems - Adding value and innovation for new and exisiting conditions;
- Provide quality control of design and construction documents prior to internal and Client submittal;
- Have knowledge of local and international building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, ADA and other ordinances;
- Develop SOWs, budgets and schedules, monitor progress, and initiate action to assure task objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budgetary constraints;
- Develop construction monitoring reports and interact with construction contractors;
- Provide accurate, complete & timely delivery of projects.
Qualifications
- Applicant must be Ethiopian;
- Hold a Bachelor of Architect degree or equivalent;
- Ethiopian Architecture License;
- Minimum of 15 years of related experience preferably with health facilities design and site development, integrating design with civil engineers;
- Knowledgeable of applicable international and Ethiopian codes and standards;
- Proficient in the application of Auto Cad design and Arch Cad or equivilent graphics programs.
