Job Description
AMEX International Inc., a Washington D.C. based consulting firm, is seeking qualified, highly motivated candidates to fill a vacant Assistant Controller position at its headquarters. The Assistant Controller will report directly to the AMEX controller and the President.S/he will work with a team of financial/accounting, project management, and business development staff to manage financial reporting and project budgets.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Review cost proposal requirements for government solicitations and manage and review partner inputs for budget proposals in terms of completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the terms of the solicitation, the terms of reference, and more broadly applicable laws and regulations. For large proposals, Assistant Controller will be expected to lead reviews with other financial staff to help align partner budgets with a competitive cost strategy
- Develop cost proposal submissions for bids on work with government clients, including ability to accurately price working both domestically and aboard and accounting for local labor rates, security and local transportation, etc
- Combine all program and department budgets together into a consolidated organizational budget and review all funding requests
- Monitor organizational spending to ensure that it is within budget
- Inform program/project managers of the status and availability of funds
- Provide technical analysis on cost feasibility of new business and expansions to existing business practices
- Prepare budget reports, monitor institutional spending, and estimate future financial needs
- Participate in business development meetings and contribute preliminarily feasibility assessments
Qualifications, Skills, and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Budgeting and/or Accounting
- 2+ years expertise in results-based budgeting, financial principles, planning and management
- Experience working with budgets for government clients
- Advanced knowledge of office software packages, spreadsheet and database (MS Word, Excel)
- Fluency in English (written and verbal); Fluency in Spanish/French a bonus but not required
- Advanced proficiency with Deltek GCS/System1
- Advanced proficiency with Deltek Premier Billing
- Experiencewith DCAA Indirect Cost Submissions
- DCAA audit expereince
