SNV Vietnam is looking for a:
Associate Advisor Renewable Energy
Based in Hanoi, Vietnam with frequent travel
(International associate consultancy contract)
SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using market based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation).
The multiply awarding Biogas Program (BP) has been under implementation since 2003, and has supported construction of over 130.000 domestic biogas digesters in 53 provinces in Vietnam. The program is going through some major changes, taking the last steps towards its goal “to develop a commercially viable domestic biogas sector” in Vietnam.
As part of these changes, some of the key activities of the program (i.e. quality control and training activities) will be transformed into a sustainable mechanism. Furthermore, a solider focus on enterprise development with the support of a Result Based Finance (RBF) mechanism is the other key area of change.
These modifications are financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands (DGIS) already donor to the program since 2003, Energising Development (EnDev) a new donor committed to the RBF component of the program from June 2013 until June 2017, and by the sales of Voluntary Gold Standard Carbon Credits (VERs).
