Call for Experts - International Social Impact Assessment Expert

Job Description

OPM Europe seeks applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of International Social Impact Assessment Expert in the Energy Sector. The role is intended to undertake work on a long-term project in Indonesia “Consulting Services to strengthen National Capacity with regards to the implementation of international social and environmental standards”.

The position is intermittent with a flexible schedule, combining remote work from home with trips to Indonesia.

We welcome applications from candidates who meet the following criteria:

Qualifications and skills

  • University degree in social sciences or related disciplines.
  • Professional fluency in English.

General professional experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ international experience, outside of Indonesia, in conducting social studies like social impact assessments or resettlement action plans in the energy sector, according to international standards (World Bank and/or ADB Safeguards).

Specific professional experience

  • At least (2) projects in preparation and conducting trainings in the field of social due diligence like resettlement, livelihood restoration, gender aspects.
  • At least (2) projects in designing, implementing and monitoring social management plans like RAP, LRPs, indigenous people plans.

Regional Experience

  • 3 years working experience in East or South-East Asia, preferably in the energy sector and in Indonesia.
  • 2 energy sector projects of a similar nature in a minimum of 3 countries, preferably in Southeast Asia.
