Job Description

Chemonics seeks candidates for potential long-term and short-term positions for an upcoming USAID-funded project in Nepal. The project, USAID/Nepal Fiscal Federalism Activity (Digo Bitta), is anticipated to start in mid-2022 and will provide technical assistance and strengthen public financial management (PFM) functions, performance, and accountability of targeted agencies at the federal, provincial, and local levels of government, and to provide targeted assistance to the Government of Nepal (GON) aimed at strengthening national PFM institutions and systems to sustainably advance PFM. Positions will be based in Kathmandu as well as Provinces 2 and 5. An exact position title and level of authority will be determined based on a candidate’s experience.

Qualifications for technical specialists:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in relevant technical area; advanced degree preferred for technical positions
  • 5+ years of progressively more responsible work experience; more for technical positions
  • Experience working collaboratively with the government of Nepal at various levels and with NGOs; experience with USAID or other donor projects preferred
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills; proficiency in English is required
  • Familiarity with Asia required; Experience in the Nepal is highly desired
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English
