Save the Children (SC) is an international organisation that has 27 member organisations across the globe. It is united by a common mission and brand but, to some extent, has until now been working independently from country to country. Through Unified Presence, Save the Children aims to create a stronger voice for children by unifying the operations in all countries where more than one Save the Children Member have programmes. This will result in one organisation at the national level in each country and a unified programme delivery structure for all Save the Children Alliance Members.


Save the Children has been working in South Sudan for over 25 years. Three Save the Children member organizations are currently operational in South Sudan – Save the Children US, Save the Children UK and Save the Children Sweden. South Sudan is one of the countries that is going through the unification process in 2009 - the target date for unification is 1st October when the country programme will be unified with SC UK acting as the Managing Member (MM) and SC Sweden and SC USA as Participating Members.


Job purpose

The Community Case Management (CCM) Project Manager will lead Save the Children’s CCM project in southern Sudan and will have overall responsibility for project leadership, direction, coordination, management and implementation of the CIDA funded CCM project. Responsibilities will also include managing human and financial resources, preparing program reports and ensuring safely and security of the staff. He/she will work under the supervision of the Director of Program Implementation and in close coordination and collaboration with Ministry of Health authorities and staff at national/provincial and district levels.


He/she will also be a technical advisor to the Save the Children country office and Ministry of Health and contribute to strengthen their capacity in Community Case Management of pneumonia, malaria and diarrhea.
