Job Description

Dutystation: Amman, Jordan


Functional responsibilities


1. Contribute to the implementation of projects’ communication plans through:

  • Assisting in ensuring that donor visibility and communication requirements are met.

  • Managing a content calendar for various communication channels.

  • Producing visibility material in line with the communications’ plans.

2. Creating Communication Materials:

  • Collecting relevant data and updates and producing and/or supporting the design of the visibility material.

  • Writing and producing various communication materials, including: Media release, onsite visibility material, news stories, projects and countries’ profiles,

  • Gathering information from various sources to assess news values and potential impact

  • Developing layouts and graphic design for various communication materials.

3. Creating social media content

  • Collecting relevant data and updates for the production material for promoting on social media

  • Developing bi-weekly social media plan

  • Monitoring and evaluating UNOPS MR, Yemen and Jordan X accounts performance and suggesting improvements once a month

4. Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Evaluating the effectiveness and impact of external communication activities.

  • Tracking, researching, and analyzing information on assigned topics/issues.

5. Other Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and proposing information opportunities and activities.

  • Ensuring compliance with UNOPS visibility requirements and professional standards.

  • Contributing to the development of website content and online resources.

  • Keep the Hub library up-to-date through collecting projects’ visibility material


6. Monitoring and Progress Control.



Education/Experience/Language requirements


a. Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, Management, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Relations,or related field is required.

  • Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in the above-mentioned disciplines or related field is desired and may substitute some of the required years of experience.

b. Work Experience

A minimum of 2 years of experience (or less depending on academic credentials) ofrelevant work experience in communications and visibility roles.

● Familiarity with donor visibility guidelines is an asset.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of Arabicis an asset).

● Knowledge of UN policies, procedures, and operations is an asset, and experience ofworking in the UN/ International Organization is desired.  

● Experience in working with the G-Suite platform including, Google Drive, Google Calendar,Gmail, Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides is desired


c. Key Competencies
