Job Description

Department

The Communications department focuses on developing Search’s media visibility and effectively representing and positioning its programmatic and advocacy priorities worldwide. This is achieved through external channels such as the website, social media, and press relations, as well as internal tools such as newsletters and staff communications. In Belgium, the department plays a key role in raising awareness of the importance of peacebuilding through campaigns and events.

General Responsibilities

The communications intern will support the team in organizing events, administrative tasks and creating content in French, while contributing to awareness-raising efforts in Belgium.

Main responsibilities

Event Support

  • Assist in planning and coordinating communication around upcoming events
  • Contribute to the creation and programming of event promotion via digital channels (social networks, newsletter, website)
  • Participate in logistics and dissemination efforts

Writing and creating content in French

  • Write and correct communication materials in French (newsletters, press releases, social media publications, web content)
  • Maintain internal communication calendars, contact lists and documentation
  • Support the translation and proofreading of documents between French and English
  • Participate in the organization and follow-up of meetings if necessary
  • Contribute to the production of video content if needed
  • Provide support on any other tasks related to the communications department
Desired profile
  • Student in communications, public relations, marketing, event management or journalism, with a mandatory internship as part of the study program
  • Good level of French and English
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills in French
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in event planning and digital communication
  • Autonomy, adaptability and ease of working in a multicultural team

Duration : The internship should ideally last at least 3 months.

Remuneration : This internship is unpaid, but a modest allowance will be paid to cover transportation and meal expenses.

Residency requirements : Residency in the European Union is required for this internship.

Location : Brussels.
