**BB 3/BB 4 – Consular Manager** **Duty Statement:** Position No.: 10418 Designation and Classification: BB 3/BB 4 Local Designation: Consular Manager Department: DFAT Division: Overseas Branch: Australian Embassy, Jakarta Section: Consular and Administration Subsection: Consular Type of Employment: Permanent, Fixed Term or Part Time: Permanent No. of subordinates: 2 Immediate supervisor: Vice Consul Highest subordinate: BB 3 **Duty Number:** 1. Co-ordinate the day-to-day provision of consular and passport services to Australian citizens in Indonesia, including the handling of more complex consular cases. 2. Under minimal supervision, provide highly effective management of the staff and resources in the Consular Section of the Australian Embassy. 3. Provide advice on Indonesian regulations relevant to consular and passports work, and carry-out complex research and/or analytical projects on consular and passports issues. 4. Manage internal Consular Information Databases and external Public Information Programs for Australian citizens, including Travel Advisories. 5. Liaise and negotiate on a regular basis with representatives of the Honorary Consul and Warden network in Indonesia, Australian government agencies, relevant Indonesian Government Departments and members of the Australian community in Indonesia. 6. Prepare routine Third Person Notes and other documentation relating to visas for third countries for Australia-based Officers and their dependents. 7. Other consular and administrative duties as directed. 8. Assist with protocol duties as required in the absence of the Protocol Affairs Manager. All duties are carried out with due regard to the requirements and expectations of the Service Level Agreement. **Qualifications:** 1. Indepth knowledge of procedures, policies and guidelines relating to Consular and Passport services. 2. Excellent management skills, including demonstrated experience managing staff and resources to a high level. 3. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision. Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet specified deadlines. 4. High level communication and liaison skills. Excellent customer service focus and ability to work with clients and colleagues in an efficient and helpful manner. 5. High level English and Indonesian language skills, both written and oral. Applications are invited for the above position in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade the Australian Embassy, Jakarta. The position is a full time position with an immediate commencement date required. The duties of the position and selection criteria are listed below.
