Job Description

We are looking for an experienced project manager to join our team as a Consultant based in our London office. Successful candidates would be ideally available to start in September for a 12-month contract (maternity cover). The role would suit someone looking to work 4 or 5 days per week.

The successful candidate will support Good Business with managing our social marketing and behaviour change campaign, SKY Girls, funded by the Gates Foundation, in sub-Saharan Africa. 

SKY Girls is a multimedia girls empowerment campaign that is currently active in seven countries. Good Business is the grant manager for three of the countries, and provides strategic oversight over the entire programme. The successful candidate will support the Market Lead for Nigeria and other members of the team as needed, working from the UK with our partner agencies in country. You will be a highly organised person, a strong communicator, enjoy problem solving, and working collaboratively and creatively. You will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with international partner agencies to design campaign implementation plans  
  • Thinking strategically to ensure campaign content is aligned with the SKY Girls theory of change 
  • Reviewing timelines and budgets for planned campaign activities 
  • Reviewing campaign materials across social media, articles, video, and audio formats 
  • Reviewing all expenditures in market and tracking spends according to annual budgets 
  • Collaborating and knowledge sharing with other SKY partner agencies as needed 
  • Ensuring compliance with our safeguarding policies for all activities.  

As well as being part of the SKY Girls team, you will be part of our relaxed and collaborative office culture and, although our outputs are very professional, our structure and approach is far from corporate or conventional. Our team is passionate, thoughtful and opinionated, with experience from a variety of industries, such as advertising, hospitality, public sector, non-profit and research. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a proven track record of project management and team management in a professional context  
  • Has strong written, verbal, analytical and communication skills 
  • Has strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task  
  • Has an interest in marketing, advertising and communications, and international development 
  • Is fully competent in MS Office applications including MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel 
  • Is flexible and adaptable  

Salary: £33,000-38,000 plus benefits, depending on experience. 

Benefits: We offer 25 days holiday, as well as two “Good Days” for volunteering or a course. In addition, the office closes between Christmas and New Year each year. We want our team to feel able to make more sustainable travel choices for their holidays, so we offer up to two additional paid days for “slow travel” for holidays. We also offer a £500 Personal Development Fund to each member of the team to spend on any skills-based course of their choosing.
