Program Overview

KOMPAK is an Australia–Indonesia Government partnership working to reduce poverty and inequality in Indonesia, by supporting the Government of Indonesia (GoI) to improve basic services and economic opportunities for the poor and vulnerable. KOMPAK organises its work around three Outcomes:

Outcome 1: Local government and service unit’s better address the needs of users.

Outcome 2: The poor and vulnerable benefit from improved village governance.

Outcome 3: The poor and vulnerable benefit from increased opportunities for off-farm employment and economic development.

In implementing activities that will enable KOMPAK to meet the above outcomes, KOMPAK works across seven provinces with five counterpart GoI ministries at the national and sub-national level.

The Opportunity

The Corporate Operation Backbone (COB) Director promotes a service-oriented collaborative approach in managing the day-to-day operations of KOMPAK, providing high-level operational and management support to ensure consistent, coordinated and high quality implementation support to the various Program teams. The COB Director is responsible for operational work planning, implementing, and tracking, as well as budgeting, establishing, and delivering all operational and corporate services to required standards.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience (10 years+) in managing and leading operations for large and complex programs, preferably DFAT or donor funded;
  • Tertiary or post-graduate qualifications in a relevant field i.e. Finance or Commerce, MBA, Project Management or similar. CPA certification is an advantage;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing cross cultural teams to provide effective and responsive financial, logistics, human resources, reporting and procurement and administration services. Experience within Indonesia, or comparative locations, a preference;
  • Highly developed and demonstrable communication skills both written and verbal to achieve Program outcomes, maintain stakeholder relationships and direct team members;
  • English language skills to support day-to-day communication (in writing and verbally) essential. Bahasa Indonesia language skills is an advantage;
  • Demonstrated understanding of DFAT’s Indonesia Country Strategy, aid policy priorities and performance environment.
