The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the successful implementation of its partners’ peacebuilding, humanitarian and development projects around the world. UNOPS supports partners to build a better future by providing services that increase the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of peace building, humanitarian and development projects. Mandated as a central resource of the United Nations, UNOPS provides sustainable project management, procurement and infrastructure services to a wide range of governments, donors and United Nations organizations.
Corporate Strategy reports to the Chief of Staff as part of the Strategy and Transformation Group established in 2023.
Corporate Strategy (CS) performs a number of functions in relation to the organization’s statutory governance and oversight. It is responsible for managing the development of the quadrennial UNOPS strategic plan on behalf of the Executive Director and the quadrennial midterm review of the UNOPS strategic plan in accordance with the policy on strategy setting. As of 2023, the Unit is also responsible for managing the development of the annual report on implementation of the strategic plan, including relevant external thematic evaluations. In addition, it is substantively engaged in various UN reporting and engagement with the Executive Board. It is also responsible for providing substantive secretariat to the Audit Advisory Committee; as well as for providing coordination, advice and analysis on strategy and oversight matters, and other substantive executive support.
With the approval in June 2025 of the strategic plan, 2026-2029, UNOPS is embarking on a multi-year journey to implement its strategic objectives. CS is expected to support the organization in this regard. Its engagement in strategy deployment will particularly be reinforcing implementation based on review and reporting of performance against the expanded results framework adopted by the Executive Board, along with the strategic plan.
Under the guidance of the Corporate Strategy Specialist you will
Prepare qualitative and quantitative analyses to inform the development of key instruments of strategic planning and strategy deployment, including the UNOPS strategic plan and associated midterm reviews
Prepare qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform preparation of the annual report of the Executive Director, as well as real-time reporting on UNOPS activities, contributions and impact, including project linkages to the SDGs
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards to visualize datasets and facilitate real-time reporting.
Draft inputs for responses to external reporting requests; identify input required from other business units, request and consolidate these
Draft thematic analysis in relation to areas of strategic relevance
Provide administrative and logistical support to the Secretariat of the Audit Advisory Committee (AAC), including scheduling and facilitating meetings
Monitoring and Progress Controls:
Corporate Strategy Senior Analyst will be continuously briefed on individual and group activities and performance. Formal monitoring and progress controls on assigned work items will take place in accordance with business needs and timelines for deliverables.
