About the Internship Programme
IOM’s Internship Programme offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain insight into the work of an intergovernmental organization and enhance their academic and professional development in migration-related fields.
Eligibility Criteria:
Interns must:
- Be between 20 and 36 years old
- Have less than two years of relevant professional experience
- Meet one of the following educational conditions:

- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent); or
- Be enrolled in a graduate degree programme (Master’s level or equivalent); or
- Have graduated from a university-level degree within the last 12 months
Additional preference is given to candidates who:
- Hold scholarships or academic credit requirements for internship placements
- Are sponsored by government, academic institutions, or NGOs with missions aligned to IOM’s
- Have a strong interest in IOM’s work and programme areas
Background and Objectives
The intern will support IOM Morocco’s Counter-Trafficking projects, assisting in project implementation, coordination with partners, and administrative and research tasks. This includes collaboration with internal units and external stakeholders, under the guidance of project management.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of activities under the Counter-Trafficking projects
- Support coordination with implementing partners, government counterparts, and relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to data collection, research, and drafting of internal and external reports
- Support the organization of project-related events, workshops, and meetings
- Assist in monitoring project timelines and deliverables
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the project team
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a university programme (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in fields such as International Relations, Human Rights, Migration Studies, Social Sciences, or related areas
Experience and Skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated motivation to work in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment
- Knowledge of migration or counter-trafficking issues is an advantage
Languages
- Fluency in English and French (oral and written) required
- Working knowledge of Arabic is desirable
- IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish

Additional Information
- Compensation:
A modest monthly stipend may be provided, depending on the intern’s location and experience. Interns who are receiving financial support (stipend or course credit) from a university or external sponsor are not eligible for the IOM stipend.
- Insurance:
IOM covers occupational accidents and illnesses for interns during the assignment. Interns must provide proof of personal medical insurance covering non-occupational illness and accidents.
- Medical and Administrative Requirements:
Appointment is subject to medical clearance, proof of valid insurance, and visa/residency authorization (where applicable).
- Zero-Tolerance Policy:
IOM upholds a strict policy against sexual exploitation and abuse, harassment (including sexual harassment), abuse of authority, and any form of discrimination.
- No Fees Charged:
IOM does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment or application process. Bank or financial information is never requested.
