Country Director

Job Description

Country Director, Solomon Islands - Honiara Based.

Cognition Education is a global provider of educational consultancy, headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand.

Cognition is currently leading and delivering on three significant educational programs of work in the Solomon Islands and is seeking an experienced program manager to oversee these programs, manage a large local team and manage all local stakeholder relationships within the Solomons.

The ideal person must have experience leading large programs of work in an international development context, experience working in the Solomon Islands and relevant experience in an educational discipline.

S/he must specifically have:

• extensive program management experience in an international development context
• proven leadership experience in an international development context
• extensive knowledge working with donor agencies especially DFAT, MFAT & ADB
• experience working in the Solomon Islands or similar environment
• initiative and self-management in unstructured situations
• commercial acumen and financial literacy
• superior written and oral communication skills
• a relevant academic qualification in an international development discipline.

The role is based in Honiara and an attractive package is available for the right applicant.
