About the Program
Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (Pacific Women) is a regional development program funded by the Australian Government and managed by Cardno. The program commits to improving the political, economic and social opportunities of Pacific women.

About the Role

The Pacific Women Support Unit is recruiting MEL consultants to join its Database of MEL Consultants (Database). Consultants on the Database provide high-quality technical and strategic MEL advice and capacity development across 14 Pacific Island countries. Consultants on the Database work on program activities and plans at the regional or country level, with DFAT staff, partner governments and Pacific Women implementing partners.

About You
The Pacific Women Support Unit is looking to engage consultants with skills, expertise and experience in the following areas:

  • Implementation of MEL frameworks and development of associated tools.
  • Gender sensitive monitoring, evaluation and learning, program evaluation and activity review in a variety of development settings/sectors, including public health emergencies.
  • Data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Identification of capacity development needs relating to MEL and responding through development of resources and capacity development strategies, including for government and civil society organisations.
  • Provision of timely and relevant MEL information to stakeholders to support ongoing program development.
  • Progress reporting and quality assurance processes.
  • Development and implementation of strategies that ensure information and lessons are shared appropriately and that an evidence base is built.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of gender, disability and inclusion activities and programs.
  • Research and design.
  • Conceptual data analysis and dissemination using computer software and technologies.
  • High level communication, consultation and facilitation skills and experience conveying complex information to stakeholders of varying levels of experience or ability.
  • Experience in emergency and pandemic responses (highly desirable, but not essential for applying).

Engagement
Successful candidates will be placed on the Pacific Women Database of MEL Consultants. Consultants on the Database will be invited to quote for opportunities on an as-needed basis. Each time a consultant on the Database is offered an assignment, a contract will be signed outlining the terms of the assignment.
