Job Description

Chemonics seeks a Digital Engagement and Communications Specialist to support the Communications, Learning, Evidence & Analytics for Results (CLEAR) team to be based in Arlington, VA. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with the knowledge management and communications team to manage the digital footprint of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management project (GHSC-PSM), while also developing and implementing the communications strategy for the malaria task order team. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include:
  • Work collaboratively with project and technical teams to meet needs for project communication consistent with client standards
  • Manage configuration of Drupal admin sections, as well as manage content through taxonomies, standard blocks, and other Drupal modules
  • Provide quarterly reports on site traffic using CMS and Google analytics reports and recommend improvements based on key performance indicators
  • Provide quality assurance, cross-device, and usability testing; and oversee fixes
  • Serve as overall web and social media manager
  • Proactively identify and refine content for a spectrum of audiences
  • Manage requests to the Knowledge Management & Communications (KMC) listserve and work with the KMC Manager to assign and track tasks, as appropriate
  • Troubleshoot website as needed
  • Coordinate development of GHSC-PSM’s quarterly report, a critical deliverable for the USG, interacting with content providers across the project, managing deadlines, editors, and final submission
  • Provide high-quality writing and editing services for technical materials
  • Ensure project content adheres to the editorial style guide
  • Support the Knowledge Management and Communications team in developing and implementing a digital engagement strategy
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field required. Masters degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of knowledge management/communications experience
  • Demonstrated ability to convert technical content for lay audiences
  • Substantive experience/knowledge of website and social media technologies and applications
  • Knowledge of full-cycle web-based application development, including basic design and coding experience with Drupal
  • Experience with content development, including written and visual narratives such as multimedia and interactive storytelling
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Effective time management skills and ability to perform under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with web server administration and interfacing with IT support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, email service platforms (e.g. Mail Chimp, Constant Contact), and various social media and web platforms
  • Experience with content management systems, HTML, Photoshop, CSS, PHP, etc
  • Experience with USAID programs and branding, and knowledge of global health and development issues preferred
  • Familiarity with AP style and Section 508 compliance preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in a second language preferred
