Job Description
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a seasoned professional for the role of Director, Global Foundations, Organizations & Institutions (Europe/Middle East & Africa). The Director-GFOI-EME/AFR will report to the VP-GFOI and manage a team of 3 FT FOI - Development Managers and team of interns. This position will lead and implement the GFOI FY24/28 Strategy in EME (including Ukraine)/AFR Regions. The Director will work closely with the Global Fundraising Networks (European and Asia), Area Offices (AO) and HQ-Integrated Program on FOI funding opportunities from their countries and globally. The Director will be working collaboratively across the HFH network to demonstrate a high level of quality, productivity and service which leads to strong internal/external partnerships.
The Director will show leadership by ensuring the success of the GFOI EME/AFR team and responsible for setting and implementing goals, motivating, and nurturing members of the team so they can succeed in their roles and careers. The Director will be a member of GFOI Leadership Team, with a focus on GFOI FY24-28 Strategy, determining what actions, policies and procedures will lead to success. As Director, will collaborate with the newly formed HFH Brussels team.
In accordance with HFHI’s global standards, policies and protocols, development and/or support and maintain all systems necessary for successful GFOI fundraising.
The preferred location for this position is the United Kingdom and will consider Slovakia and Kenya as well.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
To actively direct donor relations internally and externally, lead and manage the GFOI EME/AFR team pipeline, targets, and forecasts (60% of time)
- Engage as a leader with the GFOI-EME/AFR team ensuring each member is contributing to and implementing the GFOI FY24-28 Strategy in partnership with internal HFH colleagues.
- Lead a collaborative process with HFH colleagues on FOI activity and decision making including the pre-positioning, forecasting, Go/No Go, project design, proposal development processes and after-action reviews.

- GFOI-EME/AFR team identifies opportunities through forecasts and market intelligence to establish effective strategic FOI relationships to help achieve HFH’s objectives.
- Direct all aspects of administration for the GFOI-EME/AFR function including key performance indicators and metrics, job plans, IDPs, team wellness and related processes.
- Coordination of quality, winning proposals, concept notes and submissions for delivery of a robust pipeline.
- Develop and manage external FOI relation globally, regionally and NO offices, including facilitation and convening globally as well as maintaining the CRM system.
- Coordination of FOI capacity building (GFOI tools, including prepositioning) for EME/AFR staff leading to the development of FOI champions.
As a leader, the Director will (15%)
- Be a member of the GFOI LT engaging in GFOI FY24-28 strategic vision, change management, staff wellness, staff development, DEI strategy, FY GFOI annual objectives.
- Will work closely with the GFOI VP to identify and establish sustaining internal commitment and internal resources required to pre-position the organization, pursue, and maximize resource opportunities and to meet FY24-28 goals.
To manage staff, interns, and contractors (15%)
- Lead direct reports and contribute towards the supervision of the involvement of external contractors (e.g. grant writers), interns, and contribute to the roster of consultants- as deemed appropriate by GFOI VP.
Any other duties as required (10%)
- Other related duties assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6-10 years of proven FOI partnership/ fundraising experience
- Experience in Institutional partnerships/fundraising with key funders (e.g. World Bank, EU, FCDO, USAID, etc.) with emphasis on pre-positioning/cultivation and networking across peer NGO organizations.
- Demonstrating success in completing multiple projects concurrently while balancing competing priorities, ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven experience on leadership and ability to building a team and has excellent team building skills and eagerness to mentor and manage a growing team and practices change management, experience in training and guiding colleagues across a network.
- Global experience having experience working within/across multiple continents.
- High collaborative and solutions-oriented with a commitment to delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Preferred Requirements (in Addition To Minimum)
- Brings knowledge of the following sectors, shelter/housing, community development, and international affairs/human services.
- Previous NGO Programs experience (e.g. “Program Cycle”, MEAL, project design, etc.)
- Previous experience working at the country / field level within an NGO.
- Working knowledge of customer relations management (CRM)
- Knowledge of and passion for Habitat for Humanity’s worldwide mission.
- Non-English language skills
