About the Position

Dexis is seeking a Director of Learning to support USAID’s Tanzania Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Adaptation (T-MELA) Activity. The purpose of T-MELA is to provide technical and advisory services to USAID/Tanzania to meet its Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) requirements. This is a four-year project based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, analyze, and synthesize lessons learned from program implementation and facilitate the incorporation of those lessons into the program development cycle.
  • Ensure the quality, timeliness and technological sophistication of services related to improving the integrity and usefulness of monitoring, reporting, and learning systems.
  • Facilitate learning events.
  • Lead contributions to USAID’s efforts to deliberately draw contextual, programmatic and operational learning from monitoring, evaluation, analytical and assessment efforts.
  • Oversee the CLA component and ensure its integration across all components.
  • Facilitate relationship building, collaboration, and learning with a range of partners including USAID, local actors, host country government actors, implementers and other relevant stakeholders; ensure appropriate coordination and joint planning.
  • Consolidate learnings for broader consumption; generate and disseminate evidence-informed, action-oriented information to key partners and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the rollout of content and processes, in coordination with key partners, key events and priorities.
  • Deliver, or support the delivery of, training to advance improved application of promising practices.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a social science, development studies or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in senior-level international development programming including demonstrated ability to work with senior in-country policy makers, governments, USAID Missions, and partner organizations
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong copy editing and formatting skills.
  • Ability to present content at multiple levels of detail, from highly tactical to strategic.
  • Strong facilitation and capacity building skills.
  • Strong verbal and written English are required; knowledge of Swahili and in-depth knowledge of local operating environment in Tanzania is preferred
