Devex Talent Solutions is assisting the African Capacity Building Foundation in their search for an e-Learning Specialist to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

BACKGROUND

The African Capacity Building Foundation is searching for an entrepreneurial and ambitious results-focused individual to support the development and management of Foundation Initiatives. The e-Learning Specialist is responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of the African Capacity Building Academy learning technologies to enable efficient and reliable digital service delivery, to enhance knowledge sharing, and to promote and ensure timely and seamless digital learning experience for users. The e-learning specialist will conduct the pilot phase of the ACB Academy digital learning platform starting by the PFM school and developing other schools. He will report to the Director of Programs and Impact. This role is based in Nairobi, Kenya and is a fixed term three-year contract, renewable.

You should have experience in designing, and in planning and implementing cross-sectoral e-learning projects, and in managing processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of the selected Learning Management system (LMS) and other eLearning platforms including related Office365 systems/platforms ensuring compliance with corporate information technology and security management systems, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines of the ACB Academy.
  • Integrate learning curriculum for courses and programs into various learning platforms including e-learning, virtual learning, and web applications using multiple authoring and multimedia tools.
  • Facilitate and participates in the ACB Academy development & delivery of courses that are learner-centered and user-friendly.
  • Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theory in developing content objectives.
  • Develop and design learning material, coordinate and review educational content, and incorporate the latest technology in developing specific eLearning curricula.
  • Support the deployment of interactive learning programs, including uploading and updating courseware and curricula.
  • Utilize knowledge of LMS capabilities to recommend delivery strategies that yield a rich, meaningful, and dynamic end-user experience.
  • Run demonstrations of the system and provide training to individuals and users groups.
  • Coordinate and conduct webinars and upload session recordings into the LMS.
  • Develop supporting workflows to ensure that all learning resources are properly set up and available to ensure optimal performance of the LMS.
  • Provide technical resources and training for faculty members and learners such as step-by-step guides on how to enroll, access, and use the learning management system by learners, as well as guides for moderators, course authors and administrators.
  • Support and administer the entire learning management platform, including third-party plugins, mobile applications, and technologies.
  • Track usage of the learning management system and digital courses and generate reports on course usage, attendance, etc
  • Actively monitor the performance of the learning management system, and traffic flow to the system and make suggestions to improve on areas requiring improvement.
  • Develop backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure continued systems availability and carry out routine backups and restore tests.

COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Advanced degree in computer science, information systems management, or related fields. Related ICT certifications in learning technologies is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated at least 10 years’ experience in e-learning management technologies, modern enterprise-edge ICT technologies, services management, software development, operations, and support.
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in capturing, analyzing, designing, and documenting business requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management of ICT projects, e-learning project and sound knowledge of project management tools.
  • English and French are the working languages of ACBF. For this position, fluency in oral and written English and a good working knowledge of French is required.
  • Related ICT certifications in learning technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business demands, organizational processes, and technologies.

  • Good knowledge of public administration training landscape and the government digitalization program
  • Ability to listen, define, write, explain and interpret ideas & requirements. ·
