Job Description
Chemonics is recruiting an employee relations associate to monitor and complete tasks related to Employee Relations Department (ERD) and in accordance with client requirements and Chemonics’ policies and regulations and provides technical capacity building, coordination, and administrative support. The associate collaborates with other members of the ERD team in monitoring and updating trackers, backstopping and managing ERD initiatives and programs, organizing and maintaining files, and participating in human resource division initiatives. The associate assists with the creation of management principles and tools to improve ERD’s operations.
Responsibilities

Manages contract aspects of Staff Care Program including, but not limited to: tracking contract usage, ensuring compliance with terms outlined in contract, drafting and processing work orders by working with requestors of service to create the scope of work, processing invoices, coordinating quarterly check-ins with vendors, developing and arranging corporate events at D.C. and VA locations, upkeep of wellness rooms, writing internal communications, and processing invoices

Serves as performance management liaison for assigned business or support units; schedules regular meetings with leadership and provides performance and professional coaching. Advises employees on the corrective action process.

Demonstrates maturity, dependability, and integrity through appropriate handling of sensitive and confidential information.

Assists in investigations as interview note-taker and meeting coordinator.

Works with ERD director and managers to manage initiatives including, but not limited to: Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, Employee Milestone Recognition Awards, and the Performance Assessment Cycle.

Updates employee relations digital content and web pages.

Conducts exit interviews and maintains historical data for business or support units. Runs basic reports upon request.

Responds to inquiries from staff regarding internal database notations and provides appropriate guidance.

Facilitates corporate ERD training.

Organizes and maintains department paper and electronic files.

Works with manager , director, and senior vice president to track all relevant department information for reporting and monitoring efforts.

Assists in the development of department materials and templates.

Effectively supports staff by assisting and guiding them through ERD’s tools and systems.

Understands business operations.

Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Minimum two years of HR and/or administrative work experience required.

Demonstrated ability to think independently, provide sound professional judgment, and manage and maintain discreet information and tasks.

Familiarity with workplace laws, regulations, and employment trends.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; strong cross-culture communication and sensitivity skills.

Demonstrated ability to handle routine administrative tasks and operational issues.

Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision, and contribute to projects and initiatives.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem solving and initiative to learn new skills.

Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.

Language proficiency for Chemonics’ geographic area assigned preferred.

Previous experience working in international development and/or living or conducting volunteer work in developing countries preferred.

Willingness to travel and work abroad in less developed countries for at least 4 to 8 weeks a year.
